The Concept

Music, art, architecture, community

Bibi Simons, choir conductor, soprano and founder of the ArtChoir came up with a new cultural initiative based in Paris that brings together music, visual arts, architecture, and community through unique pop-up choir experiences.

Together with my co-founder Lisa Maslovskaya, documentary filmmaker, we are launching our first season of The ArtChoir events in Paris.

The ArtChoir is an international pop-up choir for young adults (18–35), hosted in inspiring cultural spaces across Paris. During a single afternoon, participants come together to learn a carefully selected musical piece, curated in dialogue with the space and its artistic context, surrounded by visual art and/or architecture.

Singers of all levels are welcome, everyone is invited to join!

The repertoire that will be worked on during the event can vary between different musical styles, depending on the cultural space.

The ArtChoir concept aims to create a relaxed and immersive cultural encounter between people who love singing and visual arts!

The ArtChoir in Your Space

Invite a choir into your building

The programme is composed for your space and its history. Museums, foundations, churches, libraries, courtyards, ateliers, unfinished buildings — if your space has a voice, we would love to hear it filled with singing.

  • We bring the conductor, the repertoire and the singers.
  • One afternoon, from first rehearsal to final performance.
  • The programme is composed for your space and its history.
  • Documented on film by our co-founder, if you wish.
